Boho Toddler Room Makeover
I’d been dying to design a dedicated room for Isla since we moved in our house a couple years ago and I’m SO glad I finally got around to it…..(Covid-19 helped a bit with that, not gonna lie.
The process of creating this room was so fun for me, so I wanted to share a few photos of the room before and after and give you guys a more detailed list of all the items I used to make this little boho room!

My inspiration for this room was “minimal, boho modern” (definitely just made that up, but we’re rolling with it).
The space needed to be fun and inviting but also calm. I achieved that by designating spaces for activities in addition to a comfy sleeping space.
Furniture:
I started off with the bed, which I found on Facebook Marketplace for $100. It was perfect for the space, since the room wasn’t big enough for a full sized twin bed.
Next, I set out to score the infamous Nugget Comfort couch and luckily I snagged one before all this Covid stuff shut down production. I really wanted Isla to have a multi functional piece to use for sleeping, reading, playing, etc. The nugget was the perfect solution and we LOVE it!
Storage:
Isla is just shy of turning 3, so toys were a must, In order to keep the room simple and uncluttered, I needed good storage solutions. I decided to go with an open storage shelf for her toys. The wicker baskets and pale pink bins hold all of her little toys. Everything that couldn’t fit there went in a storage box underneath her bed.
Books and reading are also a huge part of the girls’ lives, so I made sure to include a cute, accessible book shelf for her room. I filled it with all her favorites and she loves taking them down to read!
Decor:
As for bedding and decor, I really wanted to keep things minimal and “cheap”. By cheap, I just mean that I didn’t want to splurge on expensive rugs, throw pillows, or wall art when a toddler is bound to destroy things. I got most of the decor and art from Target’s “Bullseye’s Playground” or a store that’s here in Texas called Five Below (where everything is under $5!).
The rainbow wall hanging was a fun DIY I did with some faux leather and acrylic paint. Stay tuned for a more in depth tutorial!
